About Me
Photography (c) Hadas Nahman-Averbuch
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty in health behaviors including substance misuse and chronic pain; my clinical research focuses on non-pharmacological approaches to chronic pain, substance misuse, and novel technologies (e.g., virtual reality).
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Florida studying under Dr. Jeff Boissoneault, with clinical internship at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System and fellowship at Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
Before graduate school, I was a clinical research coordinator with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital working with Dr. Christopher King - and before that, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Biology, with minors in Music and Philosophy, at Loyola University Chicago.
Outside the clinic, I can be found supporting research dissemination and making podcasts - both professionally, with the United States Association for the Study of Pain (USASP) and the Journal of Pain - and as a hobby, where I play Dungeons & Dragons with friends as a member of True Meta Inc.
Please let me know if I can provide any additional information about my background or interests - or if you would like to discuss anything further.
